3. Exercise:

Physical exercise increases our body’s breathing, pumping a strong supply of oxygen to the muscles, improving blood circulation, eventually making it more efficient for the body to remove excess carbon dioxide and use more oxygen.

Although doing exercise is generally recommended as the basic principle towards cleansing the body, it gets difficult for people with severe lung and other respiratory disorders to exercise. These people should consult a pulmonary specialist before deciding on a regular exercise regime, particularly those with chronic lung conditions such as COPD, cystic fibrosis, or asthma.

4. Regular Green tea intake

Green tea is by far the best antioxidants that help reduce any inflammation in the lungs and protects the lung tissue from the smoke inhalation.

A recent study involving more than 1,000 adults suggested that people who drank at least 2 cups of green tea per day had better lung function as opposed to those who drank none.

5. Anti-inflammatory foods

Inflammation of the airways in the lungs is very common with people who smoke and are exposed to air pollution.

Having anti-inflammatory foods for cleansing our lungs can noticeably reduce symptoms like poor lungs’ health, difficulty in breathing and chest congestion.

Basic foods that help reduce inflammation include:
